Drabble Challenge #17

Prompt: quiver

"Who would leave weapons just lying around like this?" I muse sarcastically.

Yet, I'm starting to wonder if the whole D&D game isn't still another metaphor for Life: a landscape where dragons proclaim serious conflicts; smaller monsters rumble quiet disagreements. You amass tools and weapons along the way...some food here, a quiver of arrows there. Shields to protect you from blunders. Magic potions to make you stronger.

You find treasures, too...and sometimes encounter truly great delights: a spellbook that lets you see through walls (Understanding), or pass through obstacles (Mastery).

Just strewn about waiting to be discovered...indeed.
