Drabble Challenge #64

Prompt: pun
As long as I can remember
I’ve loved to play with words
Doesn’t matter what they are
Adjectives, nouns, or… um… verbs

More than just a hobby
In school I learned useful linguistic tools
My degree in English—so handy
Sentence diagramming’s one of my… um… skills

I’ve got a rhyming dictionary
And a thick thesaurus on my desk
Books on homonym, metaphor too…
So I shouldn’t have trouble with this… um… task

So, our drabble challenge 64
It shouldn’t have been this bane
Yet with all the resources I have
Why can’t I think of just one… um… PUN
