Drabble Challenge #89 [Alternate]

Prompt: old

“Why so down, Mark?”

“Well...it’s Scott’s birthday tomorrow, and I don’t have enough money to-“

“-rent him a clown!” they finished in unison, laughing.

“I have just the thing. Come with me.”

--

The sign on the door read ‘Discount Clowns’. Mark eyed it skeptically.

“Dude, it’s legit. Circus recycling.”

The circus recycles?

“Yep. Ah, here, look at this one! She's nice enough...and super cheap!”

“She’s really old,” Mark hedged.

“I think you mean, ‘vintage’.”

“I don’t know...dust is not a good lubricant.”

“It'll be fine. Once she puts on the nose and shoes, he’ll never notice.”

“SOLD!”
