Drabble Challenge #23

Prompt: digital

She was so fortunate in her digital abilities. Her fingers were her life. Her job required hours of data entry. Her lightening-fast fingers danced across keyboards. Co-workers watched, awed by the animated tap tapping. Even her leisure time involved her hands. Mountains of knitted caps, donated to the local cancer center, flew from her fingers.

The ER doctor enters the room.

The girl pastes an optimistic smile on her face, inquiring, "You CAN re-attach them, can't you doctor?"

He looks skeptically at the ice filled bag, held high by her right hand. Inside, three oozing fingers from her left hand.
