“Is there anyway we can get a radio signal out,” AJ said as Matt scanned the still, cold waters of the lake, the boat’s only paddle gripped defensively in his hands.

“The batteries are dead,” he quietly replied as the boat slowly drifted across the Moon’s reflection.

“What about screaming for help,” she said, her hands balled in frustration.

Matt studied the dark waters and softly shook his head before replying, “I think they’d sense the vibrations.”

His ex-wife glared across the boat and harshly whispered, “I hate you, Matt Wilder.”

“I hate me too, right now,” he whispered back.
