The lid clattered as dozens of crickets rained down. With an involuntary snarl, he scooped a wiggling cricket into his mouth--grimacing as its shell cracked open and gooey innards spread across his tongue. He wanted to smash them all...but damn it, he was SO hungry.
Just his luck to be fishing, while the "visitors" collected fauna samples. Regrettably, they'd mistaken his bait for a food cache.
Good thing for my orange; I'd have scurvy by now.
It's okay though, he brooded. He had a plan.
Next time it reached in, he was going to bite it SO HARD!
