A body under this bridge wasn't news. One hard look around the city could turn up half a million possible "Why"'s...in the game of Life, every player has their own personal rulebook, and definition of Winning--kept partially secret from everyone else.
The officer ruffled through the kid's pockets; an obvious "Why" would help with the family. Just one scrap of paper, with...a quote? Philosophy? Or perhaps just a warning.
"Only two forces in this world can generate a single fuck. You'd best get extremely good at Love, before you run out of Fear."
Not everybody wins.
