Save the Earth

On the big day, the streets were lined with protesters.

One representative was chosen, and she spoke first. "We must stop this, before it's too late."

"The world is a vast untapped resource," came the response.

"It doesn't belong to us."

"Who else does it belong to?"

"We should let nature take its course."

"Why?"

She made one last, desperate plea, "What about the hominids that already live there?"

"They are an evolutionary dead end."

The Justice Computer rendered its verdict: "SEED THE PLANET."

The Gene-Ships were launched, and soon humans were taking their first tentative steps upon the Earth.
